BarCamp San Antonio is just a few weeks away! Get ready to share your knowledge and experience with the San Antonio crowd September 6 at 918 S. Alamo. For those who can attend, register for BCSA here, and be ready for a first in BarCamps for my hometown. You can also catch the BCSA team on the official blog: http://blog.barcampsa.org, and on Twitter as @barcampsa
In other news, I’m finally going to start closing out the B Studios site. I’ll go into more detail about this in another post, but the short explanation is that I really closed down shop temporarily in December, and after evaluating, it’s time for a change and to work on projects where I can devote the proper amount of time to.
Additionally, there looks like there could be an SEOCamp in Houston this October, with a tentative location being in Champion’s Forest (although this may have to change if expected attendence is high). I originally threw the idea forward as something I’d actively participate in, and have since found more capable organizers. AccessCamp is still in the works.
And now that summer nears an end, I can honestly say I couldn’t even tell it was summer, excepting of course a few days out of the country. The workaholic lifestyle’s definitely in need of a change.

For about a year I’ve been running some sites (including this one) on a dedicated server. It was a great way to learn how to operate a LAMP server, and once I got into Ruby, frameworks, and other things, it was good to have a relatively modern box to run applications on until I build a box just for that use.
Layered Technologies was good for just that. They provide(d) only unmanaged servers, so you had to be on top of your game. And they’ve been helpful ever since I started renting out a server.
